There’s something beautiful about a room that feels collected rather than matched.

The best spaces often aren't created by buying everything from the same collection. That’s exactly what happened when we brought together three very different Dream Weaver pieces: a floral art print, a French Country cache pot and a bottle of foaming hand soap.

Suddenly, we had a room.

Start with One Piece You Love

For this look, it started with the artwork.

Our Coral & Gold Floral Giclée Framed Art by Celadon Studio combines layers of translucent coral, blush and warm pink flowers with striking hand-applied gold gilding.

The gold isn't simply a printed colour. It has a metallic finish that catches the light and gives the artwork dimension. A narrow gold inner edge on the frame carries that same detail around the piece.

Against a cream or warm white wall, those coral tones become the focal point without overwhelming the room.

At approximately 19" x 25" overall, it doesn't require a huge wall. It can work beautifully above an accent chair, small dresser, bathroom vanity or console.

And this is where decorating becomes fun.

Instead of trying to find other pieces that match the artwork, look for pieces that repeat just one or two elements from it.

Repeat the Gold

Our French Country Crackle Glaze Lidded Cache Pot couldn't be more different from the contemporary floral artwork — and that's precisely why the pairing works.

Its creamy crackle-glaze finish picks up the neutral background of the print, while its softly antiqued metallic gold detailing repeats the gold gilding in the artwork.

Rather than looking like a coordinated set, the two pieces look as though they were collected at different times by someone who simply knows what she likes.

That's a much more interesting room.

The cache pot can also be useful as well as decorative. Use it for small bathroom essentials, jewellery, keepsakes or simply leave it empty and let it be a beautiful object on its own.

Its coral-pink floral label echoes the flowers in the artwork, while the signature metallic gold Michel Design Works medallion ties right back into the gilded artwork, cache pot and gold bathroom hardware.

A bottle of hand soap is obviously practical.

But if it has to sit beside your sink every day, why shouldn't it be beautiful too?

Placed together, these three pieces create a palette of coral, blush, cream and warm metallic gold — without any of them actually being part of the same collection.
